The Simon-Fiset competition was established to encourage young students of the Seattle Music Teachers Association (SMTA) to continue the serious study of music and to acknowledge exceptional ability, application and meritorious accomplishment by awarding monetary prizes in the area of composition, piano, string instruments, wind instruments, and voice.
Eligibility: Students ages 5-18, who have not graduated from high school. All students who participate in Simon-Fiset Piano must also participate in Adjudications to be considered for the state honors recital.
Awards: Awards include monetary winnings, selection to represent the local chapter at state honors recitals, and/or selection and recognition at a local winners recital.
