The Marsha Wright Sonatina Festival

Event Description: "SMTA hosts the Marsha Wright Sonatina Festival to celebrate the creative variety in this musical form.  Students of all ages have the opportunity to perform sonatinas (not sonatas) for solo instruments, duos, or ensembles of any size and makeup.  Newly composed sonatinas are most welcome!  Interesting information about the piece or composer is presented to the audience by the performers.  There is no judging or ranking, but rather a chance to perform in a less formal setting for the entire community. 

*This year's festival is being planned as a live in-person recital, but these plans may change depending on the state of the pandemic and local health guidance/restrictions at the time.*
