Presentation by Sharon Van Valin

Presenter, SMTA member, and master teacher Sharon Van Valin has been managing her investments since 1984. The trigger for this was a bad divorce, and the feeling she could never retire on her teaching income; along with a bad mistake a broker made on the first little IRA she had. She decided she could do this better than he did.

She started with a few stocks and mutual funds. Then she got tired of being taxed on shadow income, studied some books, took some financial newsletters, and started her path of investing, which she will describe in more detail in her presentation!
