TIPPING POINT
With music, song and poetry, “Tipping Point” explores the struggles of the human condition and the strength of the human spirit – from the immigrant seeking a new life to the cry of a frightened child caught in a storm; from the exploitation of a woman’s love to the finality of a gunshot. These stories are told through the works of Schubert, Liszt, Mahler, Puccini, Alfredo Casella, Leonard Bernstein, Woody Guthrie and contemporary composer Kristof Iverson. In the context of real-life events, the message of “Tipping Point” is one of possibility, transformation and hope.
Members of Play On! include: Mary Jo DuGaw, soprano; Mary Kantor, clarinet; Martha Garrett, violin; Kristof Iverson, piano; RoseMarie Tamburri, piano; David Ketter, actor; and guest artist Nick Iverson, trumpet, percussion and guitar.
